I sold my first piece of artwork today!
The best part about it???
It was my most favourite painting I did all year at SOVA!
‘Bathroom Wall Raven &the Broken Helicopter’ is a painting I did as tribute to the horrible paint job in the bathroom at my old apartment.
I kept seeing a raven and a mysterious critter… I felt a bond with them.
They were paint stained spirit creatures.
Just like MUFASA!
When I was a kid, I saw him in the wood grains on my grandma’s wooden door. :]
Don’t call me crazy! Call me imaginative.
Oil Practice — Book Painting!
There is debate about E-readers beginning to make books obsolete.
The local ‘free-store’ [dump] is FULL of unused, once-loved books.
When I am practising painting [or just feel like mixing it up], I use book covers instead of canvas or boards.
HERE’S WHY:
- Using outdated/unreadable books can save paper and canvas.
- No energy is used to produce something new.
- It gives books a new way to be loved and appreciated.
- Self-supporting artwork (no frame needed!)
- Adds interesting dynamic to your work
