Air Pollution

… is the presence of chemicals, gases and particles in the air in amounts that damage the environment and cause harm to humans and other living things.

Fairphone review: ethics trumps everything else | Technology | The Guardian

Finally! Something like this is being made.

The Fairphone is the first smartphone to attempt to change the status quo to use ethically sourced materials and manufacturing, but is it a decent smartphone too?

Peeing Feels SO Good!

Don’t be ashamed, everybody pees! Admit it.

Want to know why I think peeing feels so great? (more…)

Notepad DIY – 99% Recycled, 100% EASY

So you discovered this because you wanted to know what Agenda Resurrected is

… or maybe you didn’t.

What you REALLY WANT must be to learn how to make cheap, easy and efficient notepads that give paper an extra life before being sent to a recycling centre.

First thing’s first: Do you have a bunch of scrap paper?

(click the pics if you need to see a description of the steps)

Note:  I thought I’d try something new by using the Gallery function.
If you find it difficult/annoying/strange to read, let me know in the comments!
~~ I’m also curious to hear what you had for breakfast.

Have a Leaky Faucet? – Save $$$

What MommaTrash does:

– Stick a bucket under the faucet to catch the drips –

∝ Use the water you collected for pets/houseplants
∝ If you collect enough water you can use it to mop, clean or flush the toilet

Pouring-water

.

NOTE: Since she hasn’t had time to fix it, Mom’s been conserving water and saving herself some CA$H. As a long-term solution, fixing the leak would be most economical/environmentally friendly. A leaky faucet is a HUGE money waster for home owners.

Use a bucket of soapy water to wash your car — only use the hose for rinsing!

Only 1% of our planet’s water is fresh, liquid, and usable; 97% is saltwater; 2% is frozen in glaciers and polar icecaps (as of 2012)

Go online and learn more about endangered species. Research why the organism is endangered and how you can help.

#32 is very similar.  I pulled up some photos of the endangered species I was drawn to.

Use this to get you started: IUCN Redlist  & WWF Endangered Species Directory

Become an informed consumer. Research green claims made by companies you regularly support/buy from. Ask questions like:

Do they test on animals? What kind of energy do they use to power their factories? Is your tuna dolphin-friendly?

Then find out the answers!

Free thinkers are dangerous, especially to big companies. Once you can make informed decisions about what you want to support with the purchases you make, you will become their worst nightmare. I promise.
